Vision and Roadmap

The Openmesh Vision

The vision of Openmesh is to store all the world's Web 3.0 and crypto public transactional data and information in a decentralized public immutable data lake house where anyone can access from anywhere for free forever without having any intervention, interference, or influence over regulations, governments, corporations including the creators themselves.

As an open data initiative, Openmesh core mission is to address the information asymmetry in society by democratizing information. We believe that access to data and Web 3.0 (not personal information) should be a fundamental right of everybody.

Openmesh will be the Wayback Machine and Open Finance Archive for Web 3.0, where you can find any unedited, tamper-proof historical information available to anyone regardless of borders, color, gender, or influence.

Openmesh v6 Roadmap

Openmesh v6 will be a significant milestone for us and will be filled with many R&D verticals. Currently, we are in the process of narrowing down priorities and planning appropriate resources for Openmesh v6.

We are a small team. Our technical roadmap has many moving parts. Anticipating challenges and having solid foresight on the technical roadmap are extremely important to us.

Over the last three years, the focus has been on Web3 data, encompassing cryptocurrency financial data, public blockchains, decentralized finance, and blockchain games. In 2023 and 2024, we aim to expand our data coverage to include public health and scientific research data. Openmesh is designed to safeguard billions of pieces of global data, transactions, historical records, and other essential information, making it accessible to anyone. Openmesh's Unified APIs allow anyone to access data from anywhere, anytime, without any restrictions, registrations, or licenses. The infrastructure development tools, like Xnode, enables developers to build their own decentralized data clouds with data connectivity, data APIs, and query & analytics engines in mere minutes, instead of weeks or months. They pay only for computing and storage, sidestepping licensing and setup fees. Xnode facilitates a 10-15 fold cost reduction in running and operating data clouds and can save on over 95% of deployment time.

  • “Censorship resistance by design” & protocol governance—Introducing governance framework for the core infrastructure and our Universal Data Collectors. The consensus mechanism is designed to make the present state of the data in the network come in agreement with the state of the core infrastructure, not the people. No single authority, including the founding team, can alter the data, the infrastructure, or the core function.

  • Establishment of protocol defensibility framework.

  • High Availability—design of redundancy systems to ensure service availability. Expanding v3 architecture to different regions and duplicating primary infrastructure as backups.

  • Introducing modern data architecture—data mesh (domain-oriented decentralization for analytical data and treating data as a product). Anyone can design, deploy, and provision data applications along with the middleware, query capabilities, and infrastructure without worrying about cloud infrastructure, servers, locations, licensing, etc.
